The 20-Minute Solution to Coping With Grief Recovering From Loss ...

About Susanne:
Author ? Successful Business Executive ? Mother ? Source of Inspiration Over the years, Susanne Veder Berger has confronted a variety of challenges ? decades spent literally hiding her face from the world because of a large ?port wine stain? birthmark that covered half her face, being forced to build a successful business career as a single mom in order to support her two children, and then losing the love of her life in 2010 after twelve blissful years. Now, a few years after her 50th birthday, Susanne is excited about ?creating a new life? ? and she is eager to share that experience with others facing challenges of their own. After decades of relying on heavy makeup so that she could more easily fit in with others, Susanne had the good fortune of connecting with pioneers in the field of laser surgery who specialize in working with adults and children with port wine stain birthmarks. As she became more comfortable in her own skin ? and as she managed to rise above the negativity of those who questioned her ability to succeed in the business world and as a single mom ? Susanne discovered how fulfilling it can be to share words of encouragement and inspiration with others. Born and educated in Canada, Susanne raised her two children in Westchester County, New York. When the marriage she expected and hoped would last a lifetime came to an abrupt end, she found herself in the position of having to reinvent herself and support her children. Susanne found a job in the corporate world, and enjoyed a successful career as a marketing executive for CitiGroup, the U.S. Tennis Association, and a number of other companies and organizations. Following the untimely passing of her second husband, renown and beloved dentist Dr. Sidney R. Berger in 2010, Susanne began writing a memoir, focusing on the challenges and lessons she has encountered throughout a life filled with joyful experiences and unimaginable challenges. Titled ?Getting Naked,? Susanne?s book is scheduled for publication in early 2012. When she is not sharing her message of empowerment with groups of all kinds, celebrating the success of her children, and putting the finishing touches on her book, Susanne enjoys all of the adventures and experiences that New York City has to offer.

Recovering from loss is always a work in progress. I speak from experience. When the marriage I expected would last a lifetime came to an abrupt end, I found myself in the position of having to reinvent myself and support my two children. Then I married again but lost the love of my life in 2010 to an untimely death. Since then I have been delivering my message of hope and self-improvement during presentations to various groups. In the course of doing that, I?ve found that my 20-minute solution for coping with grief resonates with others. The journey is ongoing, but you can make it possible 20 minutes at a time?..
